Apart from skiing, snow-shoeing is gaining popularity as a winter sport, and snow-shoes can be hired at ski or snowboard rental shops. Snow-shoe paths are also being specialized.

Besides winter-sport activities, you can travel to Colorado to visit many of its wonderful cities. Downtown Denver, located at 16th Street Mall is brightly lit and lively, with horse-drawn carriages and busy shoppers during the winter days. Breckenridge, a famous mountain town has fashionable boutique shops, local restaurants and a busy Main Street to simply stroll around. The atmosphere brings a historic feel. Telluride in the southern part of Colorado offers fabulous views for a memorable vacation.

Colorado has a pleasant weather with more than 300 days of bright sunshine through the year. The average temperature during summer reaches up to a little more than ninety degrees, and though the summers are hot, there is no humidity, and nights cool down considerably. In short Colorado offers a beautiful summer, pleasant spring and magnificent autumn.

A popular summer activity in Colorado is climbing up its 14,000 feet-high mountains. There are fifty four such mountains, and they are referred to as ‘fourteeners’. Climbing up the fourteeners is considered an achievement, and each climb will add a ‘badge of honor’ to your belt. For those who cannot make up to the summit, hiking up to half the way enables some wonderful views. However, it must be kept in mind that climbing high elevations require physical fitness, and altitude-sickness can be prevented by drinking a lot of water.

Irrespective of the season, you can travel to Colorado during any time of the year, to enjoy its natural beauty coupled with various activities, to make a memorable vacation.
